How does this work? How will you help me?Our professional Employment Consultants will work with you one-on-one to help determine a path forward to reach your goals. We can help you with your resume, teach you effective job searching techniques, prepare you for job interviews, connect you with local employers in your field or related fields, provide workshops to build your knowledge, and more!

Do I have to pay for your services?No. Our services are available and open to all and there is no fee to participate.

What programs services do you offer?Personalized employment consultation to help identify your goals and guide you through your job search. Help building a professional resume and cover letter, as well as preparing for job interviews. Connection to local employers in your field or related fields, with a possibility of subsidized placements. Free access to computers, photocopier, printer, fax, internet and Wi-Fi. Free access to a library of job search resources and courses to help you prepare and build your skills. Assistance in determining licensing, certification and credential assessment pathways, including everything you’ll need to build your future in Ontario’s skilled trades. Help understanding the local labour market, your rights as a worker and Canadian workplace culture. Information on training, apprenticeships, community supports and job postings. Free virtual or in-person workshops available to help you gain the skills you need to find your next job. Information and support applying to participate in the Y’s Pre-Employment & Skills Training Programs. Access to Better Jobs Ontario, Canada Ontario Job Grant, and skills training programs.

Do I need an appointment?We prefer that clients set up an appointment to visit us in person. However, if space allows, we will welcome walk-in traffic as well. If you have already been assigned an Employment Consultant, please contact them directly to schedule an appointment. If you are a new client, please contact the location that is closest to you.

Can I receive job search assistance virtually?Yes, we offer virtual appointments and workshops.

Do I have to wear a mask in the EAC offices?Currently, masks are not required. Please feel free to wear a mask if you prefer.

What should I bring?For your first meeting please bring a copy of your résumé (electronic or printed) if you have one, a piece of photo ID, and your Social Insurance Number (SIN). When visiting the Employment centre, you should come prepared with your own pens, notebooks, and reference material. You are also welcome to bring your own laptop if you prefer.

Can I bring family/friends to my appointment?No. At this time, only clients who have a scheduled appointment are able to come into the centre.

Where are you located, what are your hours?West location: 1642 Merivale Road (Merivale Mall), 2nd Floor Central Location: 150 Isabella St, Suite 201 We are open: Monday to Thursday: 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and Friday: 8:30AM to 4PM
